The International Silambam Federation (ISF) was officially established to serve as the global governing body for the development, promotion, and regulation of Silambam worldwide. The Federation was formed with the objective of unifying Silambam practitioners across all nations, standardising training systems, and elevating Silambam into an internationally recognised sport and cultural heritage.

The formation of ISF follows the principles of good governance, transparency, inclusivity, and international cooperation. Since its establishment, ISF has been committed to expanding the presence of Silambam across continents through structured programs, international championships, and partnerships with national-level Silambam organisations.
